What We Do fo Our Kids
« on: July 25, 2010, 07:08:23 PM »
Youngest is about to turn 21, and there are NO 4's to be had anywhere in time...so...she just got my 3 week old 4 and I'll have a replacement coming in 3 weeks plus. She's very happy (I guess that's what we are here for anyway) BUT I'M STUCK WITH MY POS RETIRED BLACKBERRY CURVE.

When I got it, I thought I was at the top of the food chain; now it feels like a damn tin can and string compared to my 4

Thanks bud - that's nice praise from a guy who's proven he's one himself. In fact, there's an abundance of "good dads" on this site! Crazy, but good. :bang:

ALL IS WELL IN THE UNIVERSE! My new iPhone 4 is restoring from my last backup as I write. The salesman said they are starting to come in faster, but are not allowed to tell customers for fear of retribution when they are delayed (I ordered this one Saturday afternoon!). The Curve has gone back to retirement. :bang:

Wow, Curve...was it the original? Still OS 4.6, or did you get 5.0 on that?

Would one of you kind souls tell me if iPhone 4 uses the mini SIM or whatever it's called?

thanks!

So the next question, is the chip the same size? (not the card, but the chip itself?) I guess what I really need to know is if it is possible to take an X-acto knife to a normal SIM card, and trim it down.

I remember seeing somewhere on the 'net instructions for doing just that - they cut down a T-Mobile standard SIM to try in an iPad I think. Anyway, they claimed it worked.

perfect! thats exactly what i wanted to know. I was thinking of having my GF buy my iPhone4 in HK, and bring it out when she comes here next month. But wasn't sure if I'd be able to actually use it while I was here. (I'm using T-Mo's FlexPay or whatever their all you can eat, no contract required thing is called while I'm here in the States.) The only bad thing is I can't use 3G, only Edge on T-Mo's network.
